Limit of Heat
August 23rd is "Limit of Heat".
The heat is about to subside, and at night crickets and bell crickets bring the sounds of autumn.
To coincide with the end of the summer heat, we have combined Shizuoka Prefecture's Black tea "Kurasawa" with Red dates and Hops.
Enjoy the rich, rich flavor of Black tea and the sweetness of Red dates. This blended tea leaves you feeling the hints of autumn, with a lingering fruity aftertaste like biting into the skin of a grape.
How about enjoying a refreshing drink in the evening when the heat subsides?
The flowering season is over and the season for grains, cotton, and other crops begins.
During the season, it has been said that a typhoon will strike on the 210th day (Nihyakutooka), which is the 210th day after the beginning of spring.
For this reason, long ago, festivals were held all over Japan to appease the wind god.
The tradition continues to this day in Yamagata, with drum processions parading through the streets praying for "peace in the world and bountiful harvests," and Kazematsuri talismans being placed in the rice fields, and has been passed down for many years.
And in modern times, we experienced rice shortages due to the Reiwa rice riots.
Now, as I once again realize how grateful I am for rice, I feel like I share the hearts of people from the past.
We hope the wind calms down and the golden rice grains grow.
