Cold dew

October 7th is "Cold dew".

It's the season when you can feel the coldness of the dew on the wildflowers.

With the arrival of autumn, the harvest season for grains begins.

For this cold dew, we combine Stem Hojicha "Okumidori" made in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture, with freeze-dried Japanese pears and Lemon peel.

The toasted, sweet aroma of roasted green tea, reminiscent of autumn leaves piled on the ground, is pleasantly layered with the fresh taste of seasonal pears.


Now, autumn has arrived, a season of delicious food brimming with flavours from the mountains to the sea, including pears, chestnuts, mushrooms, pumpkins and pacific saury.

Although we often worry about the cold weather, the bountiful autumn harvest gives us energy.

In the Shin Kokin Wakashu (Collection of Ancient and Modern Japanese Poems),

"夕されば 野辺の秋風 身にしみて うづら鳴くなり 深草の里 - As evening approaches, the autumn wind in the fields penetrates my body, and the quails cry in the village of Fukakusa."

This poem evokes the feeling of a calm and fulfilling autumn, with the chill of the wind and the crimson evening breeze and the cries of quail.

As autumn deepens and the seasons change, why not take a moment to relax with some Kanro tea and enjoy this fleeting moment?
