The rich umami and elegant aroma of Gyokuro, expressed through black tea. A rare Japanese black tea seldom encountered.

This exceptional tea is made from first-harvest Gyokuro leaves, carefully shade-grown for approximately 26 days and then intentionally processed as black tea.

Very few producers transform Gyokuro into black tea, and only limited quantities are made. Introduced to our selection for the first time this year, it is a particularly rare expression of Japanese tea.

As hot water meets the leaves, a sweet, toasty aroma reminiscent of baked pastries emerges, layered with elegant fruit notes of roselle and dark grapes.

On the palate, the mellow umami characteristic of Gyokuro unfolds alongside a gentle, caramel-like sweetness. Subtle savory notes reminiscent of vegetables and mushrooms add further depth and complexity.

The gentle character of Japanese black tea harmonizes with the rich umami unique to Gyokuro, creating a distinctive expression we invite you to discover.
