Vernal Equinox
March 20th is "Vernal Equinox."
We wait for the cold wind to pass and the warm sunshine to come down.
This time of year, needless to say, is cherry blossom season.
This blended tea, which represents the vernal equinox, combines Benifuuki, a white tea from Makinohara City, Shizuoka Prefecture, with cherry blossoms and leaves.
This is a refreshing blended tea with the aroma of cherry blossoms and the gentle sweetness of white tea. You can enjoy the quiet aftertaste and the sweet and gorgeous taste of cinnamon and vanilla until the very end.
Some people may not be familiar with the term "white tea."
White tea is tea that is lightly fermented compared to oolong tea and black tea.
It is said to be the simplest way to make tea; the tea is completed by allowing the tea leaves to wither and then drying them.
It's amazing how simply wilting the flowers can produce such a gorgeous fragrance, but cherry blossom leaves also undergo similar changes around the cherry trees, sometimes giving off a unique fragrance.
You will find that the scent is just like "sakura mochi".
This is because various chemical reactions occur during the drying process that affect the ingredients and aroma. For example, the water evaporates and the ingredients are condensed, or the aroma is created by reactions with enzymes. This shows the infinite possibilities of plants.
This tea has not been treated with any unnecessary methods and allows you to enjoy the natural blessings of nature in its natural state.
Be sure to give it a try this season as we celebrate spring.
