Major Snow
On December 7th, the day is called "daisetsu" (major snow).
We are entering December and the year is finally coming to an end.
In reality, there is not even a hint of snow, and we are witnessing a strange sight of autumn leaves and Christmas decorations all together. Still, the air is still, and it is definitely quiet and cold, and the sound of stepping on fallen leaves is resonating well.
Daisetsu's Blended Tea No. 418 combines Kagoshima Prefecture's Hojicha tea, made from the stems of tencha tea, the raw material for matcha, with black tea from Miyazaki Prefecture. The seasonal ingredients are mandarin oranges, cinnamon leaves, WABARA and hops. It has a sweet aroma reminiscent of sweet and sour berries and milk chocolate. If you add hot water, you can also enjoy a spicy aroma. It has a comforting taste with an earthy taste that is bathed in plenty of sunlight.
As mentioned earlier, the raw material for matcha, tencha, is made by picking new buds in the spring. It is left to rest for a while to bring out the flavor, and then ground in a mortar in October to make matcha. Freshness is especially important for matcha, and it is difficult to store because it absorbs moisture easily, so it is stored in the tencha state.
From the perspective of preservation, it is said that Hojicha tea originated from people roasting Sencha or Bancha tea at home in order to preserve it for a long time. Although the uses and situations are different, they are delicious thanks to the various ingenuity of the Japanese people at that time.
Delicious sencha, coffee-like fragrant roasted green tea, gorgeous and sweet black tea...
Please enjoy your tea time according to your mood and the time of day you want to drink it.
