立秋

Beginning of Autumn

August 7th is the Beginning of Autumn.

In the evening, a cool breeze blows and the humid air begins to ease.

Asamiya Sencha from Shiga Prefecture is combined with Hypericaceae, Kuromoji branches, and Fig leaves.

This blend offers an exotic aroma reminiscent of tropical fruits.

The fresh, lush taste of sencha spreads in your mouth, giving you a refreshing sensation as if you are in a coniferous tree.

Although it is autumn according to the calendar, I look up at the sun with resentful eyes, thinking that the heat is still unbearable, but here is a haiku.

"秋来ぬと目にはさやかにみえねども 風の音にぞおどろかれぬる"

This is an autumn poem written in the Kokin Wakashu.

A poet from the Heian period wrote, "Although it is not clear to the eye that autumn has arrived, the sound of the wind makes me aware of it."

Even today, autumn still feels a long way off.

I think it is precisely because of times like these that people have become conscious of "changing the way we use words."

For example, around the beginning of autumn, the style of greetings changes from "summer greetings" to "late summer greetings."

The opening lines of the letters have also changed to phrases such as "The beginning of autumn" and "The heat of autumn," showing the thoughtfulness of the letters in anticipation of the changing seasons.

If we could send words on the wind and enjoy seasonal tea,

You will surely begin to feel the signs of autumn in your heart.
